Arizona Wholesale Tire was sharing its own brand search with competitors that had almost the same name. We rebuilt its local presence so Google, and dealers, could tell it apart. Profile calls grew 584% year over year.
Arizona Wholesale Tire supplies tire shops and dealers across the state from its Chandler warehouse, with bulk pricing and free same-day delivery. Most new business starts with someone typing the company name into Google.
That search was crowded. A near-identical “AZ Wholesale Tires” with five times the reviews, and a regional tire and wheel distributor, competed for the same query. Calls meant for the client went elsewhere, and from May to September 2025 the profile produced only about 25 calls.
Google Maps results for the brand search today. The look-alike competitor has five times the reviews, yet the client now ranks first.
Ranking for your own name sounds automatic. With look-alike competitors it is not. Google has to be sure which listing matches the search, so every signal needed to point to one business.

“A competitor with five times the reviews still ranks below the client for its own name. Clear, consistent signals beat review volume on a brand search.”
For a wholesaler, each call is often a dealer placing a bulk order. Going from a couple of calls a month to more than one a day changes the sales pipeline, not just a dashboard.
