Chapter 01 · Why maintenance matters

What Happens When Nobody Looks After A Website

Websites rarely break all at once. They slowly become slower, less secure and less reliable, until one day something important stops working.

Security holes stay open

Outdated plugins and themes are one of the most common ways websites get hacked.

Forms quietly stop working

A broken contact form can lose enquiries for weeks before anyone notices.

The site gets slower

Old software, growing databases and new plugins add delay month after month.

Backups fail silently

Many owners discover their backups were broken only when they need one.

Rankings slip

Broken links, errors and slow pages make search engines trust the site less.

Fixes cost more later

Emergency repairs after a hack or crash usually cost far more than prevention.

Chapter 03 · Security

Layered Protection, Not A Single Plugin

No single tool makes a website safe. We combine several layers, so if one fails, the others still protect you.

Web application firewall

Blocks common attacks and bad bots before they reach your site.

Strong logins

Two-factor authentication, limited login attempts and tidy user roles.

Patched quickly

Critical security updates applied fast, after a quick check on staging.

Malware scanning

Daily scans for malicious code, spam links and unexpected file changes.

SSL and domain checks

Certificates and domain renewals watched so nothing expires by surprise.

Activity log

A record of who changed what, so problems can be traced fast.

Chapter 04 · Backups

A Backup Only Counts If It Restores

Backups that sit on the same server as your website disappear with it. We keep copies in a separate location and test a full restore every month, so recovery is a routine job, not a gamble.

Daily automatic backups, kept for 30 days
Extra backup before every update
Stored off-site, away from your hosting
Full restore tested every month
Chapter 05 · Response times

Questions, answered

Website Maintenance Questions, Answered

Straight answers to what business owners ask us most.

Why do I need website maintenance?

Websites rely on software that changes constantly. Without regular updates, backups and checks, sites become slower, less secure and more likely to break, often without anyone noticing.

Which platforms do you maintain?

We maintain WordPress, WooCommerce and Shopify sites, plus many custom builds. The exact tasks depend on the platform, since Shopify handles some updates itself.

Do you test updates before applying them?

Yes. Updates are applied on a staging copy first, checked, then released to the live site, with a fresh backup taken just before.

What if my site gets hacked?

We clean the site, close the hole that let the attacker in and restore from a clean backup if needed. Hack clean-up is included in our Priority plan.

Can you maintain a website you did not build?

Yes. Most of the sites we look after were built by someone else. We start with a review so we understand the setup before taking over.

Do unused hours roll over?

Change hours reset each month, which keeps pricing simple. Larger projects can be quoted separately at any time.

Is there a long contract?

No long lock-in. Plans run month to month after an initial three-month period, which covers onboarding and setup.
